Hi! We are Cari and Michael Vecchia and are passionate about wine and helping fellow wine aficionados create beautiful and functional cellars for their homes and businesses. We love working together and being able to use our creativity and knowledge to help others enjoy wine as much as we do!
Our talented team at Wine Hardware is led by Michael, a seasoned wine expert with extensive wine cellar design experience. Michael and his team of professionals are dedicated to ensuring the safety of your wine collection. Our team has completed countless custom, climate-controlled wine cellars throughout the Bay Area, specializing in the Danville / Blackhawk area.
You are in good hands with Michael, as he studied Agricultural Business with a minor in Wine and Viticulture at Cal Poly. His first job was leading the tasting bar at Concannon Vineyard in Livermore, CA. He then ventured into the Wine Cellar, Wine Refrigerator and Wine accessory business in 2001 and attained ownership of Wine Hardware in 2014.
What is Wine Hardware?
We are a one stop shop for all that is Wine. From a Custom Wine Cellar to the recent addition of Wine Sales, with a focus on small, boutique family run wineries.
We are first and foremost a Small Business that thrives on the satisfaction of our customers and holds our craft to the highest standard. We want you to be comfortable with your purchase and will work with you every step of the way… from an idea to the design, to the build. We have worked with spaces of all shapes and sizes. From residential spaces as small as a coat closet or as big as a full room transition. From restaurants, wine bars and wineries, we can do it all. Most recently, you can see our work at Bounty Hunter in Downtown Walnut Creek, Prima Wine Shop in Dublin, at AXR in St. Helena, Dana Estates in Napa, multiple Mondavi properties and Larkmead in Calistoga.

Wine Rack Solutions
Offering custom Wine Racking for your Dream cellar is what we do! Specializing in both custom wood racking and modern metal racks.
Our custom wood racking ranges from materials such as Walnut, Heart Redwood, Alderwood, White Oak, Mahogany as well as many others… have you ever seen Rift Sawn White Oak in person? It is incredible, and the wood is cut in a different grain direction providing a unique look and feel!
For the mode modern look, we offer metal wine racks from brands, Ultra Wine Racks and Vintage View. With many varieties to choose from such as peg racks, wine rods, floor to ceiling frames, cable racks and wine lockers amongst other options.
Refrigeration
The ideal wine cellar should include proper cellar preparation (vapor barrier, insulation, airtight door seal, and double/triple pane for any glass within the cellar) and climate control. Climate control is critical, as we are sure you know, for the proper maturation of your fine wines. We work with HVAC technicians that meet on site to help size up the appropriate cooling unit for any and all wine cellars.
We will assist in plugging in all your cellar parameters using an online tool for heat load calculations to ensure the appropriate BTU/h cooling system is sized up adequately.
Custom Wine Cellar Doors
Wine cellar doors are an important aesthetic feature of the room, but they are even more important for maintaining the wine collection in its safe natural environment. A wine cellar door must safeguard the temperature and humidity in the room to maintain the perfect condition for the wine you are storing.
At the end of the day, it is important to have an air-tight door seal and double or triple paned glass doors (if glass is involved)
